We loved our mum but only got a glimpse of her as a friend or teacher, so we would especially welcome any stories or memories relating to this aspect of her life.

Thoughts
I worked with Jackie for many years, and she was an unfailingly kind, thoughtful and helpful colleague with a lovely sense of humour. As well as being an excellent teacher, she always had time to listen to students. I will always remember her with great affection and respect.

Candles
I knew Jackie as a result of meeting her daughter Abby at college. I was struck by her devilish sense of humour, as demonstrated through the creation of the game ‘Velcro kitty’. She was a worldly and accepting presence in the face of the teenage reprobates we were. I had a sense that still waters ran deep with her. I am so sorry that she is gone before her time. Abby told me that she had wanted to visit Iceland. I chose a green candle to channel the northern lights. My heartfelt condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts. As is Jackie, whose memory will live on. Love Sophie
